Reflections.

It’s now been a few weeks since I put What Went Wrong With Mrs Milliard’s Mech up on Amazon. I have to say, it’s actually done better than I thought it would. I’m not sure how other people who’ve done this felt putting when they put their work up there, but I wondered if anyone at all would ever read it! Well, closing in on a month, over 200 people have downloaded a copy, mostly for free – the only thing that would make me happier is more reviews! Still, it’s cool, because I just wanted to see how things would go.

When I set out on this journey of writing fiction (instead of my usual blogging on political, social and faith issues) to not let “getting it perfect” be the enemy of “getting it done”. That doesn’t mean I’m happy to settle on a piece with mistakes in it, etc, but it does mean that I’m not going to wait for the perfectly zen moment when all the writing stars align before I write, and that I’ll finish what I start rather than waiting for the narrative to be everything I want it to be.

And that’s been working well for me so far.
